Sloane Street Website Launch

To drive awareness of the launch of Sloane Street’s dedicated website and to create engaging content to drive targeted site traffic, APR developed a creative partnership with Harper’s Bazaar to position the site as an international lifestyle portal to the street and its iconic retailers.

The partnership with Harper’s Bazaar, the internationally recognised publication with an established fashion-focused HNW audience, provided creative and engaging Sloane Street fashion content curated by Retail Development Director, Jo Glynn-Smith, driving traffic to the site from the title’s targeted audience.

APR launched the Sloane Street website to key press across property, retail and fashion media with an exclusive event hosted at the much anticipated newly opened Harvey Nichols’ Fifth Floor Roof Terrace, generating highly targeted print and online coverage with an overall OTS of 86,013,921.

The official launch of Kilver Court Designer Village, the designer discount shopping, dining and leisure destination in Shepton Mallet, Somerset where Mulberry’s roots began, was planned to co-incide with the 40th Anniversary of Mulberry, the first iconic British designer brand that Roger Saul founded.  A schedule of interviews with BBC News, key national newspapers and influential fashion titles were set up for Roger Saul to tell the story of his latest venture.

‘The Royal Child’ Exhibition

An international media relations campaign was developed around the birth of Prince George of Cambridge with the launch of ‘The Royal Child’ exhibition showcased at the athenaeum hotel and curated by official Royal Photographers Ian Pelham-Turner and Helena Chard. The exhibition featured exclusive and rare photographs of Royal Children since the Victorian era to present day and as part of the experience, guests were treated to a ‘Royal Summer’ afternoon tea.  Positioning the Royal photographers as experts on the historical lives of Royal Children and from their first hand experience of working with the Royal Family, APR generated extensive broadcast and print coverage for the hotel and exhibition across the UK and internationally.

Promoting a new level of hotel luxury to the island of Mallorca

As part of an on-going PR programme that supports the ambitious expansion plans of the luxury international hotel group, Jumeirah, APR has been promoting the opening of Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa in Mallorca, a new concept of luxury in the heart of the Mediterranean. Prior to opening APR implemented a phased sustained media relations campaign which resulted in regular print and on-line coverage in top tier consumer titles such as the London Evening Standard, Conde Nast Traveller, The Times and the Independent Traveller. Once opened, APR arranged select press trips for editors to review the hotel.

Launching Jumeirah luxury in the Maldives

As part of an on-going PR programme that supports the ambitious expansion plans of the luxury international hotel group, Jumeirah, APR has been promoting the openings of Jumeirah Dhevanafushi and Jumeirah Vitavelli in the Maldives to select trade and consumer audiences. By designing and implementing a phased, highly targeted campaign or media briefings, APR has secured regular print and on-line coverage in top tier consumer titles such as FT How To Spend It, Tatler, Vanity Fair and TTG Luxury. Conde Nast Brides Honeymoon Guide has selected Jumeirah Dhevanafushi as one of the top honeymoon hotels and resorts in the world.

London’s First Tower Hotel Celebrates 50th Anniversary

In June 2011 the world-renowned Jumeirah Carlton Tower hosted a ‘Fabulous At Fifty’ party in celebration of its 50th anniversary and launched the book, ‘All That Life Can Afford’ capturing the extraordinary history and personalities who have helped shape the hotel since 1961. APR pre-sold in features surrounding the book launch to consumer and trade on and offline titles eg. An interview with the author Clive Aslet (The London Magazine) image-galleries on the hotel throughout the fifty years ( and an interview with the hotel’s General Manager (Caterer & Hotelkeeper). After the event APR secured diary coverage in Daily Mail, The Mail On Sunday, The Daily Telegraph, Daily Express and Evening Standard, as well as a full-page feature in OK! magazine.

Launching Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living on London’s Park lane

As the retained UK agency for Jumeirah Group, APR undertook the launch of Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living, the Group’s luxury brand of serviced apartments and residences. As well as designing and implementing a highly-targeted campaign aimed at high-net worth consumers and opinion formers, APR secured the attendance of 30 top level editors from media such as The Times Luxx Magazine, The Economist, The London Evening Standard, British Airways Business Life, Diplomat and Spears Wealth Management Survey to the Grand Opening Party of this Jumeirah property on London’s Park Lane.

Bespoke Entertainment Packages For Children In Partnership With Sharky & George

The Athenaeum Hotel

As one of the most family-friendly five star hotel’s in London, The athenaeum is constantly looking for ways to expand its child-friendly credentials. With this in mind, APR Communications approached the kid’s party sensations Sharky & George and asked them to create a new bespoke entertainment service for the hotel. They developed a number of unique and fun filled itineraries for children to choose from that included treasure hunts round Green Park and documentary making classes outside The Houses of Parliament. The Sharky & George service was launched at a children’s Christmas party in aid of The Louis Dundas Centre for Children’s Palliative Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The New View At The athenaeum Hotel – The Living Wall

Tasked with generating media buzz surrounding the hotel’s re-launch using the unveiling of the ‘Living Wall’ at The athenaeum Hotel, the luxury London hotel with a big personality, APR coordinated one-on-one editor briefings during the Living Wall build, organised preview briefings with Patrick Blanc (horticulturalist) and arranged a full-page news exclusive with The Evening Standard. APR then hosted a themed ‘Living Wall’ tea on Chelsea Flower Show press day with a presentation by Patrick Blanc that was attended by 22 leading gardening editors. In addition Patrick spoke about the wall at Chelsea Flower Show to members of the RHS. Over 50 pieces of on and offline coverage were generated including full page features in The Times, Evening Standard, Guardian and Independent On Sunday Review and inclusion of the Living Wall in TIME magazine’s 50 Best Inventions of 2009.
